I have had scoliosis my whole life, crooked enough to warrant wearing a brace when I was a teenager. I never thought much about it and as I grew older and had more chronic pain, no doctor suggested that the scoliosis, the way I held my body had anything to do with it.

It was only after my spinal fusion that I discovered pilates and Andrea.  She has literally completely changed my understanding and relationship to my body, my scoliosis.

Over the years I have learned to access muscles I never knew existed, strengthening my weak side such that I no longer will need a knee replacement. Andrea has a gift.

She has an intuitive sense of your body, what needs to be supported and strengthened, always I feel lighter, more spacious after our sessions together.

She would watch me move, she could see how I was compensating and create a situation that would only allow me to use the muscles that were meant to be used. It was miraculous, it is as if I am learning to speak to my body in a way I did not know was possible.

I plan to continue my work with Andrea for as long as I am alive and well.

I have truly enjoyed working with Andrea over the past several years to make subtle yet meaningful improvements in my posture and core strength.

She always comes to our lesson with a thought-through plan, and has an uncanny ability to spot and correct the most subtle misalignments as we move through the exercises she’s laid out.

Sometimes, it feels like I’m just changing the way I think about my body position without actually moving, and yet she sees the shift and acknowledges it.
